There are many ways for you to get involved in supporting the work of the Magdalene Centre.
Becoming a Supporter
The Magdalene Centre receives support from individuals, parishes, business and government to deliver our services and programs.
You can:
- Make a regular financial donation
- Donate food, clothing, furniture and other household items
- Attend our fundraising and advocacy events
- Consider leaving a bequest in your will
Our quarterly newsletter, The Mag, keeps our supporters up to date with what’s happening at the Centre, upcoming events, advocacy issues and more.

Volunteers play an incredibly important role in the Magdalene Centre community.
Our volunteers are involved in all aspects of our work, including:
- helping people to obtain emergency assistance
- welcoming people as reception staff at the Assistance Centre
- helping people to get food and other supplies from our Food Room
- picking up donations like bread from local bakeries to restock our supplies
- sorting through donations in our Bargain Centre
- giving fashion tips and a smile working at the Bargain Centre counter
- helping out in admin with mail outs, typing and data entry
- using skills, talents and passion to facilitate Community Programs
- supporting participants in our Enterprise ventures
- raising money to continue our work through out Fundraising Committee
- donating professional and corporate skills
Volunteering is a fantastic way to be active in your local community. Be a part of the solution, learn new skills, and meet new people from all walks of life!
As part of our commitment to providing safe and professional services, all volunteers are required to undertake a police check prior to commencing. Regular training and development opportunities are also provided to our volunteers.
