A Hope Partner is someone who decides no one deserves to be hopeless.
Being Hope Partners is about working together as a community, helping those who need our support. Poverty, disadvantage, old age, frailty or disability should not be the final word on a person's life. No matter what someone's circumstances are, they're entitled to be part of a vibrant South Australia. All people should be able to live with dignity and contribute to the community.
If you'd like to bring hope back to those who feel they have lost it, please become a Hope Partner with a regular pledge.

Sharon is a single mum with three kids in primary school. She had experienced many years of depression and financial difficulties and was about to be evicted because of debt and the poor property condition. Sharon came to Anglicare's supported tenancy program. Our staff worked with her to tackle the debt, and negotiated payment plans. Then they set about cleaning the house, room by room, Sharon really worked hard to complete each weekly task. After 12 months, she has managed to pay off most of her debts. Her confidence and self esteem have really improved, along with her family's situation.
Jack was 16 when we met him. He was living on his brother's couch. His parents lived in different states, so he had shuffled between them every six months, which meant interruption to his education. Jack wanted to be a chef but lacked motivation and know how. Anglicare's Generate program staff worked with him on finding some goals for the future, and ways to get there. With steady support and training, he has secured an apprenticeship, and he is in touch with his parents again.
Without Anglicare's help, these people could have been hopeless cases...
When we see and hear about tragedies around the world, our first thought is, “we’re lucky we live here”.
Although Adelaide is free of war and natural disasters, we are not without homelessness, poverty or suffering.
Anglicare SA's main role is to give people hope, not just for a day or a week, but for the rest of their lives.
Anglicare supports those who are homeless, unemployed, financially disadvantaged, grieving or lonely. We work with families in crisis offering foster care for children, care for the elderly both in their homes and in the community, emergency financial relief, food parcels or vouchers, accommodation, as well as therapy, counselling and rehabilitation for those in need.
